Mr. & Mrs. Smith self-published the book, “Gold Medal Children” in 2018 and named the publishing company Amen Weekly. They, honestly, admit it needs a rewrite and editing from a professional publishing company. Of course all of the testimonies, scripture and social scientifically tested training strategies still hold true but Mr. & Mrs. Smith were rookie parents when they wrote it 8 years ago. They have so many more testimonies from the last eight years to write about! From successes and mistakes in raising teenagers in the technology generation, to homeschooling for seven years, and road tripping (from California), while trailering their wake surf boat halfway across the United States (twice), all while continuing to break bread (in various vrbo’s) and studying the bible together! They have a lot of testimony material! They have even continued to host their family bible study discussion with their oldest (through Facetime), while she was away in college at Cal Poly San Louis Obispo. A lot has happened in The Smith Family the last eight years!
Our oldest, Emily, (Born 2003) graduated from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo (June 2026) with her bachelor’s degree in Business Administration (Concentration Entrepreneurship), and a minor in Photography & Videography. Julia Marie, (Born 2006), is beginning her Junior Year (Fall 2026) at California State University Fullerton majoring in Illustration. She is also a freelance private contractor for a Sip & Paint Party Company and has already illustrated Mr. & Mrs. Smith’s potty-training book! Mikey (Born in 2008) is going to be a Senior in High school (Fall 2026) and working at In N Out and freelance umpiring. Finally, Sarah (Born 2011), is beginning High School as a Freshman (Fall 2026) after homeschooling from 1st through 7th grade and will be playing Junior Varsity tennis and studying Business in her History and English classes.
